I bought this dress in October 2014 for my destination wedding in the Caribbean. I must have tried on 50 gowns, but nothing spoke to me. I finally decided on one and went with my best friend to try it on one more time so she could see and while I was there the saleswoman asked if I wanted to try on any others. I had been looking for a lace gown, a request my hubby to be said he wanted to see on me, but had no luck. I asked her and she said she thought she had just the thing. She pulled the dress and I tried it on and that was it - I had found my dress.
Fast forward to January 2015 - My destination wedding was fast approaching and I stressed over how to best get the dress there (We had to take 4 different planes) and finally decided carry on was best. I had read online to just ask the flight crew to hang it up in a hanging closet they accessed in the front of the plane. So I got on the first flight and asked the flight crew and was told it doesnt exist. I panicked! It was then my hubby to be calmly said, you can only do what you can. So I gently put it in the overhead bin. 4 flights and 12 hours later we finally arrived at our destination, Dominica, West Indies. By this time I was sure it was a wrinkly awful mess, but to my absolute surprise it was PERFECT when I took it out of the bag to hang it up. I could have cried tears of joy!
Three days and a broken ankle later (not mine, hubby's - its a very long, but funny story) we were married overlooking the ocean. My dress was perfect and the look on his face when he saw me in a lace dress was priceless.
Update: We have been married 3 months! Woo Hoo we made it! Just kidding!
